The Global Wellness Institute has released a new report that finds that “mental wellness” is a $121 billion market (global). They define the market as comprised of 4 segments: 1) senses, spaces and sleep ($49.5 billion), 2) brain-boosting nutraceuticals & botanicals ($34.8 bill.), 3) self-improvement ($33 bill.), and 4) meditation & mindfulness ($2.9 bill.).
This new research is interesting to us at Marketdata because GWI has analyzed two little-researched markets that we have covered and have reports for: self-improvement and mediation.
Marketdata’s report (The Market for Self-improvement Products & Services, Oct. 2019) estimated that the U.S. market is worth about $11 billion, compared to GWI’s global estimate of $33 billion. Marketdata’s other report (The U.S. Market for Mediation Services, Sept. 2017) estimated the U.S. market at $1.2 billion, compared to GWI’s global estimate of $2.9 billion.
Access to the complete report can be had for $500, but a free Executive Summary can be obtained by contacting Beth McCroarty at GWI (beth.mccroarty@globalwellnesssummit.com.
